This wine displays a vibrant, ruby plum color. The aromas are deep with Bing and Rainer cherries while backed with vanilla and slight caramelized raw sugar notes. The palate is intense with wild raspberry, blackberry and bramble. These flavors are backed by intense earthy notes from black pepper to mushroom followed by toasted oak and clove. The finish overall expresses ripe berry and leather with a silky envelope of toasted vanilla.

Baked blackberry, cracked pepper and loads of oak spice show on the nose of this bottling. There's a viscous, nearly sweet character to the palate, which is hefty in body and ripe with dark fruit flavors.

Notes of cocoa-dusted black cherries, dried blueberries, leather, sweet tobacco and nutmeg. Dense and fleshy with a full body and plush, velvety tannins. Deep core of ripe purple fruit and a chocolaty finish.

“Bottled just five days before I tasted it, the 2021 Typesetter Cabernet Sauvignon shows more lifted, floral aromas than the compact 2020, with varietal notes of black cherries and blackberries on the nose. It's a medium to full-bodied effort, concentrated and firm across the mid-palate, then finishes long and velvety. Typesetter is produced from purchased bulk wine, so expect the quality (and presumably the sourcing, although in classic négociant fashion that's undisclosed) to vary somewhat more than usual from vintage to vintage. This 2021 is a super value.”
